About Our Church

Pastor Dr. Kerry A. Hill

Dr. Kerry A. Hill has been the Senior Pastor of New Chapel Baptist Church (NCBC)  since 2002 in Camp Springs, MD. Dr. Hill is regarded as a leader who uplifts his church members and his community. As a visionary, Dr. Hill has developed a unique ministry structure stemming from his belief in liberation theology which is captured in the "Four E's" of NCBC: Education, Edification, Empowerment, and Evangelism.

To ensure that Dr. Hill's community has a place to grow spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and intellectually, NCBC opened a Community Empowerment Complex in 2003. The complex includes a gymnasium, advanced technology classrooms, a commercial kitchen, and a computer lab. The Community Empowerment Complex is home to community empowerment programs such as computer training, job training, homebuyer seminars, life skill development, and financial literacy. Additionally, the complex is home to weekly ZUMBA classes and gym rentals for local sports teams.

An advocate for education, in 1988, Dr. Hill founded New Chapel Christian Academy (NCCA) in Camp Springs, MD. Under Dr. Hill's leadership, NCCA has continued to increase enrollment and expand education programs for students and teachers. Recently, NCCA has taken the initiative to take a holistic approach with its students by focusing on the student's physical, emotional, relational,

intellectual and spiritual well-being to develop future leaders.

Our First Lady Rev. Donna Hill

Rev. Donna Hill is a native of Prince George’s County and, as a child growing up, loved to nurture animals and help people. Her mother would tell her, “You’re going to be a veterinarian or nurse one day.” Though she never officially pursued either field, her position as an ordained Minister allows her to combine her desire to be a healer, helper, and nurturer.

Rev. Donna received the Lord and got baptized at the age of 19 at Corinthian Baptist Church in Oakland, California. While at Corinthian, she sang in the choir, served as President of the Youth Department, and was a member of the Missionary Board. Though she loved serving at Corinthian, in 1990, she was led by the Lord to return to Prince George’s County. She united with New Chapel Baptist Church and faithfully served as a former Sunday School Teacher, Missionary, Choir Member, Academy Principal, and Christian Education Instructor. She currently serves as the First Lady of New Chapel and was honored in 2016 by Praise 104.1 for being one of the Top 20 First Ladies in the DMV. Rev. Donna also serves as the Director of the Counseling Ministry and Overseer of the Women’s Ministry. In addition, Rev. Donna is the former Quality Assurance Advisor to Y.E.L.L and served as the Celebrate Recovery Leader at “The Chapel” for seven years, from March 2008 until March 2015. In 2017, she also taught a dating and relationship class with her husband for Young Adults.

Her thirst for spiritual and educational knowledge came to fruition in 1994 when she graduated from Prince George’s Community College, earning an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies. Two years later, in 1996, she graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maryland, College Park, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Afro-American Studies. She continued her quest and earned her Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1999.

Rev. Donna was ordained a Reverend on January 22, 2006, after being licensed to preach since 2000.

To accent her biblical studies, she attended Howard University School of Divinity for three semesters. In addition, she received her Evangelism Diploma from New Chapel Baptist Church Institute of Christian Education in July of 2006. Also known for being a savvy businesswoman, Rev. Donna was selected to participate in Leadership Prince George’s, a one-year program that enhances leadership skills among county leaders. She graduated from the program in June 2006. In addition, Rev. Donna was certified as a Sherpa Business Coach in September of 2015.

She was also appointed to serve a four-year term as a Parole Commissioner for the state of Maryland in September 2010 and was re-appointed in March 2014 for another six years, completing her term in December of 2019. Also, in 2011, she was appointed by the Maryland Parole Commission to briefly serve as a member of the Re-Entry Feasibility Committee governed by the Circuit Court of Prince George’s County.

In 2019, Rev. Donna became a certified John Maxwell Coach. In addition, in 2021, Rev. Donna became a certified SYMBIS Assessment Facilitator for Pre-Marital Counseling via the Symbis Marriage Program. The following year in 2022, she became a certified Pre-Marital Coach via The Parker Group.

Rev. Donna is a woman of great humility and loves the Lord with all her heart, mind, and soul. She gives God all the glory and honor for her achievements in life and in her ministry. She is a devoted wife and is happily married to her high school sweetheart, the Rev. Dr. Kerry A. Hill. Through their union, they have been blessed with one son, Keon Dakari Hill.
